Services

Five things, done carefully. If you are not sure which one you need, ask — the form at the bottom takes two minutes.

01 Written Safety Programs

The written programs California and federal rules require, built for your company — your work, your crews, your jobsites. Not a generic template with your name dropped in.

  • SB 553 Workplace Violence Prevention Plans
  • Injury & Illness Prevention Programs (IIPP)
  • Heat Illness Prevention Plans
  • Fall Protection Plans
  • Site-specific safety plans

02 Prequalification Support

Prequal packages take hours most small contractors do not have. We assemble the safety side of the submission so your bid does not stall on paperwork.

  • ISNetworld and Avetta submissions
  • General-contractor safety questionnaires
  • EMR and incident-rate documentation packages

03 Training Materials

Ready-to-run training material your foremen can actually use in the field, with room to record who attended and what was covered.

  • Tailgate and toolbox topic libraries as fillable PDFs
  • Pre-task plan forms
  • Inspection checklists
  • Custom topics built for your operation

04 Fractional Safety Support

Monthly safety support for companies with no safety department — a working safety professional on call, without a full-time hire.

  • Document review and program upkeep
  • Incident response guidance
  • Cal/OSHA inspection and citation help

05 First Aid & CPR Training

Hands-on First Aid and CPR classes taught by Mandi Autsen, a certified First Aid/CPR instructor. When someone goes down on a jobsite, the minutes before help arrives are the ones that count — this class teaches your crew what to do in them. Cal/OSHA expects trained first-aid responders on site; this is how your company gets them.

  • First Aid and CPR certification courses for crew members and foremen
  • Taught at your shop or jobsite, scheduled around your work
  • Attendance and certification records kept for your files

About A & A Standard Safety

A & A Standard Safety is a safety consulting business in Sacramento, California, founded by Aaron Autsen and his wife, Mandi Autsen. Mandi runs operations and client intake, and she is a certified First Aid/CPR instructor — she teaches A & A's First Aid and CPR classes herself. Aaron does the safety work.

Aaron has worked in safety since 2008 — more than 18 years across construction, mining, and oil & gas. His work covers Cal/OSHA and MSHA (30 CFR Part 46) requirements, written safety program development, crew training, and insurance-claims coordination. He currently works as a safety specialist for a Sacramento Valley contractor. A & A is his own company, built for the smaller shops that carry the same written-program requirements as the big ones but have no safety staff to write them.

That is the whole idea behind the business: the program has to match the company that will be held to it. A plan written for your actual crews and your actual work gets used. One pulled off a shelf does not.
